December 12, 2008 : ProSys today announced that Women’s Care of Florida is the winner of its ProSys Unplug and Win contest. Women’s Care of Florida will receive Cisco wireless communications networking technology, including hardware and services, worth $35,000. The award was presented on December 11, 2008.

The contest was open to businesses and nonprofits in Tampa, Florida. Judges based their decision on determining the ways in which wireless network technologies would improve the participant’s operational efficiency and productivity, enhance sales and marketing capabilities and increase their business impact to the community.

“We are pleased to provide Women’s Care of Florida with the latest in wireless technology,” said Michael Hritz, Cisco Business Development Manager for ProSys.

Cliff Hogan, CIO of Women’s Care of Florida said that the Cisco wireless network solution will improve overall patient care. “A wireless solution will allow us to more cost-effectively roll out our Electronic Medical Records program. This program will enable physicians to access patient records via a tablet or PC versus the traditional paper chart—the end result will be improved patient care, cost reductions and increased physician productivity.”

Mobility solutions based on wireless technology are helping organizations compete more effectively and innovatively than ever before by connecting employees, partners and customers anywhere and anytime to the information and resources they need over a secure, reliable wireless network. Mobility solutions improve convenience, increase productivity, and enhance customer responsiveness, helping businesses create competitive advantage.

The judging panel cited that “Women’s Care of Florida clearly demonstrated a critical need for the modernization of health care activities and recordkeeping within the organization. Their summation of the benefit to its patients; as well as the health care staff of physicians and nurses that service them was very compelling.”

Wireless technology is improving business efficiency by increasing collaboration and the ability to respond rapidly to market changes. It is also increasing satisfaction and productivity by enabling guest Internet access without compromising network security. And it is enhancing the security and management of both wired and wireless networks, as well as saving time and money by quickly tracking in-demand resources across businesses.
